$211 Million

That's how much of the President's Budget for Health and Human Services is being allocated to supporting "Americans with Autism Spectrum Disorders":
The President is committed to expanding support for individuals, families, and communities affected by ASD. The Budget includes $211 million in HHS for research into the causes of and treatments for ASD, screenings, public awareness, and support services.
As we know, "research"---what should be studied and how these things should be studied---can be a pretty contentious topic in discussions about autism. Will there be an autism czar to oversee research? It is possible that there's too much funding for autism, from the NIH? What's going to happen with all of that funding and how can the public offer input?
