A Hearing on Holistic Reform

Sen. Jim Webb's proposed National Criminal Justice Commission is one of the best opportunities to come along in years for thorough federal reform to all corners of our broken criminal justice system. And today Webb's bill gets its first public consideration.
The Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Drugs will hear testimony from experts in the field in a hearing this afternoon at 3 p.m. EST. You can watch the hearing live here.
The committee will hear from LAPD Chief William Bratton, Prison Fellowship Vice President Pat Nolan, Harvard Law Professor Charles Ogletree and Heritage Foundation Fellow Brian Walsh.
Here's more on the hearing from Families Against Mandatory Minimums, and here are recent post on Webb's commission from me and from contributor Michael Santos.
