I'd like to push harder on the Global AIDS Coordinator issue. This is an important position; PEPFAR and other US-funded AIDS programming are major global donors. If the US is going to take a lead on this, we need to be leading in the right direction. We have a chance here to affect a major decision.

So far, twenty-nine people have signed the pledge to write their senators. I think we can do better. Please commit to writing your senator if you haven't already. If you have written, leave a comment and let us know what you said. If you have a blog of you own, write about this. Leave a link in the comments and I'll post a round-up. I'm also going to be contacting other health bloggers about the topic. Please do the same, and leave a comment to tell us who you contacted and what you said.

This is an unusual chance, here, to help make sure that this is done right. Let's not miss the chance.
