All of All Day Buffet

In a few short weeks, I'll be in New York City speaking at All Day Buffet's The Feast Kitchen entrepreneur showcase. In advance of that, I thought it might be worth breaking out some of the various parts of ADB; all of them are worth keeping track of.

All Day Buffet is the main brand behind The Feast, the Feast Kitchen, the NOLA100 and NYC100, and By/Association. ADB started in a way that I think many Millennial generation members can relate to, with a group of creative people who wanted to change the world, but didn't know the best way to do it. They felt blocked between the world of creative professionals that didn't necessarily care about making things better, and a bureaucratized nonprofit sector that moved slowly and in well-established patterns.

All Day Buffet was designed to be a way to move beyond that. Since then, they've focused on creating contexts in which people can discover new peers and collaborators for making a difference.

The Feast: The Feast is a now-annual conference full of inspiration. They held the first in New Orleans last year and this year, they'll be in NYC. Speakers include Philanthrocapitalism author Matthew Bishop, professional poker player Annie Duke, as well as representatives from groups like Virgance and IfWeRanTheWorld. The Feast Kitchen is a showcase for talented young organizations to pitch to an audience of people that can help.

New Orleans 100/New York 100: Seeking to demonstrate just how much cross-sector ingenuity and innovation there was, ADB has put together two lists of incredible projects. The first, the NOLA100, was all about the amazing people rebuilding New Orleans into something great. The most recent, the NYC100 was all about the projects that are driving creative social and cultural shifts in the Big Apple.

Finally, By/Association is ADB's really interesting, all analog connection platform that takes people and gives them one great connection a month. If you're in NYC or SF and looking for new fascinating people to meet, it's a really interesting approach, and worth trying out.
