Ann Coulter Defends Same-Sex Marriage?

Ann Coulter

OK, it takes a certain amount of audacity for anyone to suggest that Ann Coulter is a friend of the LGBT community.  The woman has been spewing hate speech for years, calling everyone from former Sen. John Edwards to former President Bill Clinton a "faggot," and recently yukking it up with Mike Huckabee over which one of them could be more "anti-sodomy." To label her a supporter of LGBT rights would be akin to saying that Strom Thurmond was actually down with the civil rights movement, or that Red Sox fans secretly root for the Yankees.

Yet that's not stopping a core group of rightwing talk-radio hosts, or the group American Right to Life.  They've issued a press release and a YouTube video today (aptly named "The Ann Coulter HangUps") blasting Coulter for her support of politicians like Mitt Romney, who they consider to be too LGBT-friendly.  According to their press release, their YouTube clip is a "cross-country sampling of conservative talk show hosts from Florida, Colorado, and California confront[ing] the best-selling author on her repeated defense of those implementing homosexual marriage and tax-funded abortion."

Seriously?  Ann Coulter defending homosexual marriage?  OK, Rush Limbaugh is a crazy MF, but these four talk show hosts - Bill Keller, Steve Deace, Bob Enyart, and Gregg Jackson - must be on some of the most powerful drugs I've ever heard of.  You can watch the YouTube clip they've put together below.  Their big beef with Coulter is that she endorsed Mitt Romney in the 2008 GOP Presidential primary, and they think he's a waffler on issues like abortion and same-sex marriage. One of these four hosts - Jackson - even bet Coulter $1,000,000 if she could prove that Mitt Romney is not a flip-flopper on the issue of same-sex marriage.

I think they're all a little delusional.  Romney and Coulter are as anti-LGBT as they come. But if the radical right forces are too pre-occupied fighting each other, that's certainly a good thing for LGBT rights. YouTube clip below, for those who want a little joy at conservative wingnuts fighting amongst themselves.
