Be a Blogger for Choice: Trust Women
Put your blogging skills to work next Friday on behalf of reproductive rights!
January 22nd marks the 37th anniversary of Roe v. Wade -- but a woman's right to control her own body is far from secure. Democrats' willingness to treat reproductive rights as a perk that can be bargained away in health care reform illustrates this far too well. That's why NARAL Pro-Choice America wants you to speak up on the anniversary of that vital Supreme Court decision, by taking part in Blog for Choice Day 2010!
Every year, NARAL comes up with a question and asks pro-choice bloggers to give their answers in one big day of writing, tweeting, Facebook sharing, and however else you want to get the word out. This years question is in memory of Dr. George Tiller, an abortion provider shot down in his church last year for daring to provide women with a safe medical procedure, who used to sport a button expressing a simple manifesto: Trust Women.
So: "What does Trust Women mean to you?"
Whether you're a professional blogger or keep a personal place for your thoughts, please share what "trust women" means to you next Friday, January 22nd. You can register your blog here to affirm your intention to participate in Blog for Choice Day 2010, and download the cool Blog for Choice graphic to advertise your support for women's reproductive rights to your friends and followers.
If you don't have a blog, there are still other ways to add your voice to the chorus: put your thoughts into a Facebook note, or tweet using the hashtag #bfcd. Let choice ring!
