Berman, From the Perspective of His Son

Perhaps the most scathing criticism of Richard Berman, of the Center for Consumer Freedom, that I have ever seen has surfaced in recent days. And it was written by his son, Silver Jews singer David Berman. I just learned of it via a post from Tracy of Digging Through the Dirt. The commentary from Berman was originally posted here, and as Tracy notes, that it really did come from David Berman has been verified. This look at the elder Berman--and all the things he's done and said--from the perspective of his son is certainly interesting, and it's in keeping with what many of us already knew and believed about Rick Berman, but I don't find myself gaining any pleasure from reading it. It's just sad. Terribly, terribly sad.

A snippet:

My father.

You might be surprised to know he is famous, for terrible reasons.

My father is a despicable man. My father is a sort of human molestor.

An exploiter. A scoundrel. . . .

A couple of years ago I demanded he stop his work. Close down his company or I would sever our relationship.

He refused. He has just gotten worse. More evil. More powerful. We've been "estranged" for over three years.
