Blog Your Way To India This February
Are you a social change blogger or aspiring media guru? Do you live, breathe and sleep social entrepreneurship and bottom of the pyramid innovation? If so, Ashoka has a contest for you.
Sponsored by the Lemelson Foundation, Ashoka is offering bloggers a chance to apply to be the official blogger for the Ashoka-Lemelson Tech 4 Society event this coming February. The event is all about intersection - between rural and urban, between high-tech and appropriate-tech, between online and offline. Particularly, it is about exploring how to inspire and facilitation innovation that serves society as a whole.
The event is the fourth of a series like it that have included conversations in Kenya, Brazil, and Singapore. It's all part of the broader work that Ashoka Tech is doing to identify and promote the work of tech-based social innovators around the world. Beyond just events, their blog has increasingly become a must read.
To enter the context, bloggers simply need to write a post of less than 600 words about the intersection between technology, society, and social good, and then include this text at the bottom:
Ashoka: Innovators for the Public are hosting Tech 4 Society, a conference exploring technology, invention and social change, in Hyderabad, India, in February 2009. Find out more about the conference here. This blog post is an entry in their competition to find the official blogger to travel to and cover the event.
Once your post is published get the competition entry form and email it to tech4society@ashoka.org by November 30, 2009.
