GES Content Co-Director Megha Agrawal discussing the first day of the GES curriculum
The core of the Global Engagement Summit is a curriculum that helps students move their projects progressively along the path from idea to implementation. The curriculum includes core curriculum that everyone participants in, and then blocks with themes like "Communication," "Innovations in Social Change," and more. In each block, students have five or six choices and choose the workshop that best fits their projects and interests.
During the day yesterday, all delegates had a core curriculum that included four workshops including
- Mission and Vision Development
- Impact Assessment and Mission Measurement
- Grant Writing Primer
- Asset Based Community Development
For the rest of the event, thethey had a workshop block focused on Communication (with topics ranging from Healthy Working Groups to NGO/Government Relations), a small group discussion focused on motivations, and then the opening of the OpenShutter Project exhibit, a responsible media collaboration.
