Can't Get to "The Truth About Food" Talk? No Problem

by Stephanie Ernst · 2009-04-02 07:04:00 UTC

Since I first mentioned Jeffrey Masson's The Face on Your Plate: The Truth About Food a couple weeks ago, I have finally started reading it, and though I haven't had time to get very far yet, I'm already impressed. It's fantastic. It's smart and well-researched, and it covers the range of issues associated with raising and killing animals for food.

I'm disappointed that Jeff won't be coming through St. Louis to do a talk anytime soon, but (another) Jeff and Sabrina of VegSource have done a wonderful thing for those of us who aren't on Jeff Masson's list of stops right now or who were disappointed to miss the events in their own area (hi, Elisa C.!)--they recorded Jeff's talk in Los Angeles so that they could share it with all of us. Visit this page for the video. Also check Jeff Masson's current list of stops to see if your city is one of them. And finally, get the book already, would ya?

You can see Jeff's previous two guest posts on this blog here.
