Carrie Prejean Sues Over Opposite Marriage Comments

Carrie Prejean

Carrie Prejean, a.k.a. the former Miss California ousted after not fulfilling her contractual duties, a.k.a. the new Republican spokesperson trying to win over young religious folks with her tirades against marriage equality, has decided to sue the folks at the Miss USA pageant for -- ironically -- discrimination.  Yup, the same thing she preaches toward LGBT people, she claims is happening to her.  WTF?

Prejean's argument is that she was wrongfully stripped of her crown because she opposed same-sex marriage.  Seems fairly ridiculous, of course, and on par with the excuse that Donald Trump offered, which is that she was just too beautiful for people to like. In the lawsuit, she names Miss California USA Pageant Co-Executive Producer Keith Lewis, former Executive Director Shanna Moakler, and Miss California USA Press Agent Roger Neal as offending parties.

The reality, according to Miss USA officials, is that Carrie Prejean wasn't handling her responsibilities faithfully, and was instead more interested in becoming the next Fox News starlet. Lewis told Frontiers LA that Prejean is way out of line with her lawsuit.

"It is very sad an event honoring beauty has become so ugly. The MISS CALIFORNIA USA Organization, former Executive Director Shanna Moakler, Press Agent Roger Neal and I will defend our honor vigorously," said Lewis. "I guess hell hath no fury like a Miss without a crown. We're all looking forward to a less litigious party when we crown the next Miss California USA November 22 in Palm Springs airing live for the first time in more than a decade."

Wow, talk about knocking that one out of the park. Prejean, meanwhile, continues to rock the anti-LGBT circuit.  After appearing at a GOP rally for young conservatives in Florida, she's due to appear before the Family Research Council's anti-LGBT "Value Voters Summit" later in September.
