PrernaIn the spirit of transition at Change.org, I am serving as one of your regular Immigration bloggers. I do miss Dave Bennion blogging here, though we are good friends who interact often enough over email.

A little about me - Some of you are already familiar with me. I am the only undocumented person in my entire family and one of the founders of DreamActivist. Immigration is a topic I have studied in graduate school with respect to international relations, but I have also spent 10 years navigating the broken immigration system in the United States.

For now I just want to draw your attention to a simple but crucial action you can do this weekend to stop the deportation of a Bay Area family.

Also, please nominate and vote for your favorite Changemaker in the Immigration category.

I look forward to blogging and interacting with the immigration community at Change.org and getting to know one another.

Prerna Lal is co-founder and Online Coordinator of DreamActivist and a board member of Immigration Equality. She is currently attending George Washington University Law School.
