Change.org Exclusive: The Art of Understanding

by Shannon Moriarty · 2009-04-02 18:40:00 UTC

Mark your calendars! On April 24th, The Soloist will hit theaters across the country. Starring Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey Jr., it's a story about the friendship between an LA Times columnist and a talented musician living on the streets of LA. This film has been a long time coming (it's release date was pushed back from October '08) and promises to be worth the wait (I'll let you know for sure next week...).

To that end, I'm excited to report that Change.org is teaming up with The Soloist and TakePart.com to bring you some exclusive content leading up to the film's release... starting today!

The Art of Understanding is a slideshow inspired by The Soloist that debunks some all-too-common myths about homelessness and mental illness. It also features some awesome tunes by Nuttin But Stringz and artwork by current and formerly homeless individuals.

Take a look, learn something new, then PASS IT ON. We can't spread this message far and wide enough.

Thanks to our friends at TakePart.com for inviting us to feature this at Change.org first!
