David Frum on How the GOP is in Another World on LGBT Rights

I've been traveling the last few days, and living off of food from the Hudson News at various airports (side note: the Hudson News charges too much for a bottle of juice). Newsweek's issue this week was too tempting to pass up, though, since it features an article on why Rush Limbaugh is a bad spokesperson for GOP causes.
The article is written by David Frum, the guy who wrote George W. Bush's "Axis of Evil" speech in the wake of September 11. In general, I agree with him on less than .01% of things, but his article about Rush is pretty spot on. However, it's less his thoughts about Limbaugh and more his overall concerns about the state of the GOP that are the most interesting. This paragraph, in particular, really brought home the growing divide that the GOP is going to face on LGBT rights issues, and it's an important one to note:
The GOP will remain a predominantly conservative party and a predominantly pro-life party. But especially on gay-rights issues, the under-30 generation has arrived at a new consensus. Our party seems to be running to govern a country that no longer exists.
That's right...the GOP and its leaders - Bobby Jindal and his support for a ban on gay adoption, Mitt Romney and his condemnation of all things LGBT-related, Sarah Palin and her church-full of ex-gay organizations, Mike Huckabee and his disgusting comparisons of homosexuality and bestiality - all of these politicos are, in the words of Frum, so out of touch on the issue of LGBT rights, they are seeking to "govern a country that no longer exists." In other words, the under-30 crowd isn't going to suffer any fools when it comes to LGBT rights.
And, unfortunately for the GOP, it's clamoring with fools, including the party's current mouthpiece - Rush Limbaugh.
