Did Akon Take Advice From Change.org?

Remember this post from ages ago where I proposed a pop-politics solution to gender based violence:

Could a Song by Akon Help Thwart Gender Based Violence in West Africa?

So, what if he was able to fill his music with messages that spoke out against gender based violence, the risks of unprotected sex and the wrongs of sexual violence - could Akon help change the attitudes that foster gender based violence?

Well, it seems that Akon might actually be taking my advice. Ok, fine, maybe he's not taking my advice in particular - but he is teaming up with Peter Buffet to raise the consciousness about human trafficking with the campaign Is There Something I Can Do, which is a joint, cause-focused venture between Buffett and Akon which will be promoted with the release of the duo's anti-slavery song collaboration, "Blood Into Gold."
