Diversity FAIL

Once again, I'm grumbling about the lack of diversity within the technology world. But I feel that it's important to pressure companies to seriously consider diversity as a business asset because otherwise the status quo will never change.

My current complaint comes after reading Fast Company's The Third Act of Chris Hughes.

I've heard Chris on panels and enjoyed his commentary about leading President Obama to victory through his new media skillz. He is a good guy and has done a lot for this country. However, I had to pick my jaw up off the floor after I clicked through to check out his new gig at General Catalyst where he is now joining a nearly all male group of technology venture capitalists.

So here's my question: how the hell are female technology entrepreneurs going to get funded if this is the landscape they are dealing with?

From Chris who says, "I’m the kind of person that needs to think things through" this doesn't seem like the most thoughtful choice. Really, you just helped to elect the first black President and now you're joining the rank and file of the newest version of the old boys club?

Sigh.
