Earmarks: Now Just 2% of Your 2009 Federal Budget

Dissecting some recent fundraising bombast from the operation of Sen. John McCain, I noted the emptiness of his rage against the earmark -- funding appropriations for pet projects added to unrelated legislation by lawmakers -- since these budgetary hangers-on add up to a minute amount of the federal government's annual spending.

Jon Stewart makes the same point much funnier:
