The goal of National Eating Disorder Awareness week is to prevent eating disorders and body image issues while reducing the stigma surrounding eating disorders and improving access to treatment. Make sure to participate in this action created for this week, but also make it a life long commitment.

Want to get involved? Visit the National Eating Disorder Association to find official events and the closest NEDA Walk.

One of the best ways to show support is to embrace positive body image and healthy eating habits this week. Pledge to stay off the scale, to practice mindful eating and to treat your body with respect. Don't criticize the physical appearance of others. Remind your friends and family that they are beautiful. And don't forget to look in the mirror and affirm that yes, no matter how much you weigh or what size jeans you wear, you are beautiful too!
