Follow Mobile Tech 4 Social Change on Twitter

Today I'm living vicariously through Twitter by following people at the Mobile Tech 4 Social Change barcamp being held at Hunter College in New York. Hosted by MobileActive.org and Hunter College's Integrated Media Arts Program, the program will include discussions, brainstorming, and much inspiration around topics ranging from developing mobile apps for social change to mobile activism in India.
For those of you who've been interested in mobile related posts like "The Cellphone that Could Change the World," I wanted to post a bit about some of the folks who will be there.
- Katrin Verclas/MobileActive.org - The founder of MobileActive.org and host of today's event, Katrin Verclas is the most prolific voice in the field. To learn more about the space, MobileActive.org is your best destination. Follow Katrin on Twitter @katrinskaya
- Joseph Steig/VentureWell - Joseph Steig is the Director of VentureWell, a seed fund for socially-minded businesses focused on health or the environment and founded by undergraduates, as well as the Chief Financial Officer for Long River Ventures, a technology focused early-stage investment firm. Follow Joseph on Twitter @jsteig
- Jacob Colker/The Extraordinaries - Jacob and The Extraordinaries (that sort of sounds like a band name?) are working on micro-volunteerism, small acts like editing documents that could be done while on the go and contribute real value to the nonprofits they support. Twitter: @extraordinaries
Others organizations in attendance include AIDSPortal Initiative, WITNESS, socialmarkets and many many more. To follow along, search for #m4change or follow these folks on Twitter:
