Friday Food on a Saturday: From Breakfast to Dessert

So...I'm only three weeks into this "Friday Food" series, and I've already missed a day. Oh well. I'm guessing that most of you will forgive me for posting this a day late.

I'm feeling breakfasty and brunchy this weekend, and fellow animal bloggers Deb and Mary wanted to see cookies and chocolate, respectively, make an appearance, so I send you to multiple recipes this weekend, all vegan, all delicious:

1. Hearty Whole Wheat Waffles (image above) from the Innocent Primate Vegan Blog. This makes me want to go out and buy a waffle maker. I have frozen vegan waffles in the freezer, but it's just not the same. In addition to waffles being all kinds of yummy, blogger Sara also reminds that "using flax in place of the egg gives it a heart-healthy, zero-cholesterol boost! And we all know how great flax is for your heart, with all those yummy omegas, mmm - now we can call this recipe truly ♥-y."

2. Chocolate Peppermint Cream Bars (image below) from Vegan Cookies (which I just discovered--gorgeous, mouth-watering cookie photos from an 18-year-old vegan looking to publish her first cookbook!)

3. Gluten-Free Chocolate Orange Truffles from Elana's Pantry. Yum.

4. Dark Chocolate Dipped Orange Cookies from megatarian (image below). Yes, more chocolate and orange--because chocolate and orange combined is that good.
