From Living in His Car to Becoming a Five-Term Mayor
This new video comes from Mark's InvisiblePeople.tv 30-city, 11,000-mile, 75-day road trip, going on now.
Paul Lambi had a great life and then ended up homeless. Today he runs a business and is a true leader in his community. He's proof that homelessness can happen to anyone — and that there's life after homelessness.
Last month I visited my old home town of St. Louis. The main reason was to meet homeless families living in a weekly rate hotel in St. Charles County, like Candace and her four children.
Paul Kruse of local homeless services organization First Step Back Home mentioned that Paul Lambi, the mayor of Wentzville, was a huge help to the homeless families and was once homeless himself. Plus, he wasn't ashamed to talk about it. I knew I had to interview him.
I really wish I had more time to hang with Mayor Lambi. On the eve of my 15-year anniversary of getting off the streets I know it is far from easy.
