Get Your Good On at SXSW2010

The annual South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive festival brings together thousands of techies for a week of exploring new software, new platforms, and new ideas. This year, social entrepreneurs are crashing the party.
The bloggers at Social Edge have put together a great list of proposed panels relevant for social innovators. These panel descriptions all come from SXSW's new "Panel Picker," a tool that allows SXSW attendees to actually have a say in what discussions will happen at the conference.
Across the forty-odd workshops the Social Edgers list, there are some interesting themes:
- The impact of social media on nonprofit stakeholder engagement - As one might expect, there are a number of panels designed to educate nonprofits on how to better use social media to better leverage their supporters
- Crowdsourced everything - Related to the above, there is a strong emphasis in a number of workshops on separating fact from fiction to really understand the potential for crowdsourcing funding and information.
- Technology as a vehicle for developing world transformation - There are a number of panels about how programming is becoming a vehicle for particularly young people in the developing world to create opportunities for themselves.
- The importance of story-telling - A number of the proposed conversations are about the vital importance of using stories to engage new audiences in social change work.
