I recently ran across a very cool entry-level opportunity in global health. Interesting jobs for recent graduates in this field are like hen's teeth (Uh, real people use that phrase, right? Not just my mom?) so I was pretty excited about this one.

The newly-established Global Health Corps will match recent college graduates with health organizations who need their skills. They have opportunities for fellows in Rwanda, Malawi, Tanzania, Burundi, and Newark, New Jersey. Its mission is to

"strengthen the movement for global health equity and improve the quality of healthcare services for the poor by connecting outstanding young leaders with organizations working on the front lines in the fight for global health equity."

There are a lot of things I like about this program. The fellows work in teams, each American matched by a host country national. (I don't know what they do in Newark.) They promise to carefully match the fellow's skills with the need of the host organization. They pay the fellows living expenses and travel costs, which means this program is not restricted to rich kids who can afford it. They provide training to the fellows before they go to their sites. They are partnered with highly respected organizations.

If this program lives up to its planning, it will be an amazing opportunity. Take a look.
