The great Rush Limbaugh must be proud of his Republican minions in Congress. Apparently they're still blocking relief to states and schools construction and renovation. Per Reuters, 3.53p EST Wednesday:

a senior House Democratic aide said no deal had yet been reached on two highly controversial issues: federal funding for school construction and money for states that could be used for a variety of purposes.

Rush must be proud of Republican Senator John Ensign (NEV), who said Sunday on Meet the Press that talk of teacher layoffs without aid to states was just Democrat "fear-mongering":

We're not going to be doing that in any of the states.

Come on, Senator. You read the Wall Street Journal, don't you? 15,000 possible teacher layoffs in NYC alone, for starters. Up to 575,000 total, by this account.  Here's more.

And there's still time to petition your congresspeople to restore those funds..
