This just in from NARAL - another woman, Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, has been confirmed to the Cabinet as the Secretary of Health and Human Services:

Washington, DC - Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, today commended the U.S. Senate for voting to confirm Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius as secretary of Health and Human Services. More than 22,000 of the organization's activists sent messages to the Senate in support of Sebelius' nomination. Sebelius' confirmation marked the first of three Obama nominees that NARAL Pro-Choice America is working to confirm as part of its Three-for-Three campaign.

"We applaud the Senate's vote to confirm the eminently-qualified Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to serve in this critical position," Keenan said. "Anti-choice advocates tried every desperate trick in the book to derail her confirmation, but this vote shows that a majority of senators understand that Americans are tired of the antagonistic politics of the past. As our country faces challenges on a number of fronts, especially on the issue of affordable health care, we look forward to ensuring that women's health and sound science are a priority, rather than the failed political maneuvering that damaged this agency during the previous Bush administration."

Keenan said her organization will now focus its resources on Judge David Hamilton and Prof. Dawn Johnsen. Some senators, including virulently anti-choice Sen. James Inhofe of Oklahoma, are threatening a filibuster to block Prof. Johnsen, who has been nominated to lead the Office of Legal Counsel at the Justice Department, and Judge Hamilton, who is President Obama's pick for a seat on a federal appeals court.

Besides being a champion for women's rights and ensuring that reproductive health measures are working in favor (rather than against) women - Sebelius will also be dealing with the recent outbreak of the Swine Flu in the United States. Somehow, I have faith that if she was able to deal with the Republican opposition to her confirmation that she can now handle just about anything. Pigs or otherwise.
