Harvey Milk: It Takes No Compromising to Give People Their Rights.

Milk Quote Today's Harvey Milk quote comes from a campaign speech he gave during his first run for Supervisor of San Francisco in 1973.  It's funny to think that ten years prior, Milk was handing out campaign pamphlets for Barry Goldwater.  What a difference a decade makes.

It takes no compromising to give people their rights. It takes no money to respect the individual. It takes no survey to remove repressions.

With words like that, it's easy to see why Time Magazine named Milk one of their 100 heroes and icons.  You can read their piece on him here.
