Help Peaceful Prairie Grow!

by Stephanie Ernst · 2008-11-11 07:13:00 UTC

As you've surely noticed by now, I'm a great fan of Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary and its blog (see the profile I wrote as well "Peaceful Prairie Restoration of the 'Free-Range' Hens").

And this morning, Mary Martin of Animal Person tells us that Peaceful Prairie needs our help now--in these next couple days--to make possible a new and exciting opportunity for the sanctuary: "They have the opportunity to expand the sanctuary by 35 acres and acquire a 4,000 square foot home (to be used as an Education Center, volunteer housing and for sanctuary visitors). $70,000 of the $100,000 needed has been raised and PPS needs $30,000 before the end of the week to make a cash offer on the property."

Many of us are on tight budgets these days, your humble blogger here being no exception, but if you have $100 or $50 or even $10 to spare, please consider donating to Peaceful Prairie's efforts by going to their Web site and clicking on the "Make a Donation" button on the left-hand side of the page, about halfway down, under the e-mail sign-up box.
