The world is waiting and watching, Leaders, stand by your commitments

President Obama's progressive vision in bringing a much needed and integrated approach to fighting global disease which would allow improving and strengthening healthcare systems around the world. However, the question to ask is - are these initiatives good enough? In the past, the U.S. administration has been criticized for not providing the necessary aid to combat global diseases, particularly HIV/AIDS.

United States leadership is pivotal in global health. The renewed commitments have been welcomed by the global community. However, as conscious citizens it is our obligation to monitor them.

This goes not only for the United States but for each and every country as global health needs a collective effort to ensure necessary funding is allocated and the resources are acquired for its success.

As a member of change.org, ask the leader of your country to keep their promises in scaling up global health programs while continuing to strengthen their commitment to you and your fellow global citizens!

Take action on change.org and sign the petition Holding Leaders Accountable to Address Global Health.
