Homeless Youth: We Can Do Better Than This

by Shannon Moriarty · 2009-11-25 20:08:00 UTC

This video needs no introduction. It was created by Jill Hardman and Chloe Noble. In May 2009, they began walking across America to raise awareness of the LGBTQ homeless youth epidemic in the United States. Their walk is called Homeless Youth Pride Walk 2009 and Operation Shine. This video depicts some of the youth they met along the way in San Francisco.

You should know that this video, while extremely important, may be difficult to watch.

Shannon Moriarty has worked in various homeless shelters and service organizations around the country. She is a graduate student studying housing and urban policy at Tufts University.
