How to Turn Students on to Science: Podcast with Intel Science Talent Search Finalists

When a school succeeds in placing two out of 40 nationwide finalists in the most prestigious science competition in the United States, maybe it's doing something right. So I'm really happy to share a talk with two of the 40 finalists of the Society for Science and the Public's Intel Science Talent Search: Caitlin Mann and Elizabeth Coquillette from Hathaway Brown School in Shaker Heights, Ohio. Lizzie and Caitlin give us an insider's view of a school and community that succeeds in turning its students onto real science, engineering, and technology.
What these two students share is worth a listen for anybody looking for ways to improve science learning in their schools. It's also just great fun to listen to two such bright, pleasant personalities talk about science education that works.
Caitlin and Lizzie are in D.C. now with the other finalists, preparing for the award ceremony on March 10. I want them both to win.
