Image of the Week: Remembering John Massie

On January 6th, a man named John Massie froze to death on the streets of Ontario; streets that he called home. This image is from blogger Nancy Halifax who attended his memorial service today.

Sadly, freezing temperatures claim the lives of dozens of unhoused people each year. Yet, tens of thousands of deaths are prevented because of the noble efforts of municipalities, shelters, and outreach workers who work tirelessly to bring those at risk in from the cold.
