Image of the Week: Sacramento Tent City

In the shadows of Sacramento's skyscrapers is a rapidly growing tent city. Authorities estimate it is home to 1,200 people. It's a primitive setup; no running water, no plumbing, and about 50 new residents each week. Click here to take a deeper look into the reality of homelessness in America today. 

Shannon Moriarty has worked in various homeless shelters and service organizations around the country. She is a graduate student studying housing and urban policy at Tufts University.
