Everyone knows Darfur.  Chad, tho, is a different story; sort of the the forgotten, red-haired stepchild of the Darfur conflict.  Thankfully, Rob Crilly is there to help explore the other side.

Rob is a freelance journalist who's currently traveling in Chad, after a quick trip acros the border into Darfur.  And, twittering all the way.

Below are some of Rob's tweets from N'Djamena, Chad:

- First impressions of N'djamena: gosh what a lot of chinese people
- Riding through N'Djamena on a motorbike is like putting your face in front of a big hairdryer on, erm, hot
- Not sure about the monkeys tied to trees in the car park. Otherwise hotel very nice thanks
- Had beef with ginger and stir-fried rice. Mia Farrow would disapprove on so many levels
- There's a french cheese festival in town

And some tweets from his recent excursion into Darfur:

- Bedding down for 3rd nigjht with JEM rebels in "liberated" North Darfur
-Watched antonov bombing to the south yesterday and it was back again this evening bombing to the north. hasn't spotted us
- Sleeping under the stars beside an AK47 (not mine)
- Antonov back at 6 am. Have small idea of fear they can bring
- Sleeping beside techical amid sand, listening to Kate Rusby
- Dawn chorus of bombing resumes
- Making dash for the border
