Each week, I will be bringing you a new interview with a formerly-active activist or abolitionist, that is, someone now deceased.  I'll be talking to the men and women who paved the way for the abolitionists of today and getting their thoughts on the problems and solutions of modern-day slavery.  How do I contact not just the dead, but the famous and dead?  Every good blogger must have her secrets!

From www.mustardseed.comThis week... Jesus

How's the afterlife treating you?

Finally, a place that values community organizers and governors equally!

For those non-biography readers out there, how about you tell me a little about yourself.

I am the central figure for Christianity, and most Christians believe that I am the son of God.  During my life, I preached the importance of living simply and reaching out in love to poor and oppressed in the world.  I often spoke of how heaven was the ultimate place of freedom.

What do you think is the biggest problem in the modern-day abolitionist movement?

There is a difference between leadership and servant leadership.  A good servant leader is the first one there and the last one to leave, and offers to do the most arduous and unpleasant tasks.  We all struggle for the "leadership" part but neglect the "servant" part.  Only when we are no longer a slave to our own pride cam we truly be free and lead others to freedom.

If you were alive, what would you do to fight slavery?

I would tell everyone that trafficking victims have been cast aside by society, and that it is our duty to love them, care for them, and help them rebuild their lives.  It is not ours to judge them, hate them, or call them names.

Any last thoughts for our readers?

You know the "H" in Jesus H. Christ stands for "Harold".  Think about it, "Our Father, who art in heaven, Harold be thy name..."
