Introducing Jobs for Change
Last week Change.org debuted a new feature, Jobs for Change. More than just job listings - though there's 658 of those and counting - JfC has career guides that provide insight, direction and advice for those of us on the job market. This includes students in high school, college and at the graduate level, as well as young professionals and "sector switchers." (Some of these folks are starting soon.) There's also a guide who is an Americorps alum and here to work with others interested in Americorps, and current and future guides for green jobs, government work and other topics. (Apply for a career guide position here.)
You can search jobs easily by keyword and/or location, and refine your searches by sectors (and Change.org causes), years of experience needed, and whether positions are FT or otherwise. When I entered the keyword "poverty", I got 2 pages of results, though one + page is organizer positions for U.S. PIRG in different cities. As I surfed around, I also came across a great opening at a progressive foundation for someone with my background.
I hope you'll check out Jobs for Change and use it as a resource in your social justice, anti-poverty work. Have you checked it out? What do you think?
Good luck!
