Introducing Poverty Advocate Week

by Leigh Graham · 2009-03-15 07:44:00 UTC

I am headed to Florida tomorrow to visit my dad.  I'll be on the Gulf Coast, smack in the middle of the foreclosure turmoil that's wreaking havoc down there.  I hope to have some interesting insight to report while I'm away!

That said, this is a family vacation, and thus I'm so pleased to announce that this week a series of guest bloggers will be hosting at Poverty in America.  Some you've met before, like Diane and NycWeboy - he of the medicaid critiques.  Several of my Gulf Coast advocates are back - say hello again to Kate and Stephen from New Orleans and Alabama.  And please welcome their Louisiana colleague Dominique Duval-Diop!  We also are working feverishly to line up several new guest bloggers from around the U.S. and I look forward as much as you - I hope! - to seeing their contributions here.  All in, we'll have commentary on poverty and healthcare, hunger, class, jobs and work, and Gulf Coast recovery - just to mention a few topics that this crew of anti-poverty advocates tackles everyday.  I'm thrilled!

As mentioned, I will be weighing in with a few reports from the field, and I couldn't pull this off without the incredible help of my editor Josh and our fearless intern Mike.  So please give them some love, settle in and enjoy the week!
