Is the Israeli Embassy Waging a Campaign Against J Street?

According to the New York Jewish Week, J Street's message is having an impact - if not on Washington, then on Jerusalem and New York:

"several major Jewish leaders were so angered by the J Street statement that they made unsolicited calls to reporters to blast the group. When asked whether the calls were orchestrated, several sources said they believed the campaign was being mounted by major pro-Israel groups and by the Israeli Embassy in Washington."

J Street is part of the big four Jewish peace organizations that have come out early and hard against the invasion of Gaza, and are now calling for an immediate ceasefire. It looks like they are now able to rattle folks over on Van Ness, where the Israeli Embassy is located, as well as among the 'kill now, peace later' crowd in this country (USA).
