Joe the (Homophobic) Plumber

Joe the Plumber

Like Miss California, just when you think this man is about to end his fifteen minutes, he manages to come back for more.   Joe the Plumber has given an interview to Christianity Today, in which he says that queer people are strange and unusual, and that he would never let any of his children near a gay person.

Queer people are strange and unusual?  Wait, is this the same Joe the Plumber that told a crowd of conservative politicos gathered in Washington, DC that their applause made him horny?

Yup, it sure is. Talk about strange and unusual.

For what it's worth, one of the most tragic things to come out of Election 2008 is the longevity of this man.  If he's not being a blowhard on issues pertaining to the middle east, he's bashing LGBT people.  What he said to Christianity Today is no less offensive than the screeds that California's John Briggs was saying in the 1970s, when Briggs tried to ban LGBT people from teaching in public schools.

Please, media, stop giving this dude a microphone.
