Join Change.org at the Idea Camp!

How's this for innovation: a conference that operates around the core belief that the audience is collectively more knowledgeable than any one speaker. That's the crux of The Idea Camp, an "open source hybrid conference designed to help people move from ideation to implementation." The Idea Camp will be gathering later this month, August 28th & 29th, in Arlington, Virginia.
The Idea Camp is a collaborative movement of idea-makers who facilitate free hybrid conferences and develop resources for people who desire to move ideas toward implementation. Facilitated by a growing collective of innovative thinkers and practitioners from numerous disciplines, participants gather around topics of interest to encourage and inspire one another, share practical wisdom from the field, and develop intentional networks for idea-making.
Sound interesting? Want to learn more? Take a gander at the website. You'll be happy to know that the conference is completely free to attend. If you can't make the trip to DC, you can fully interact online.
I am thrilled to be joining InvisiblePeople.tv's Mark Horvath for a session about how the movement to end homelessness has taken to the web. The theme for this conference is compassion and justice, and I can't think of a more appropriate framework for a discussion about the movement to end homelessness. Here's a brief intro to our conversation at the conference:
America's homeless crisis is soon to get worse. According to data from the Labor Department, more jobs have been lost in the past 12 months than any other period since the government began keeping records in 1939. Perhaps most disconcerting is that experts predict unemployment will get worse before the economy gets better. In this workshop, you will learn how to become part of the solution to this crisis.
I hope you'll join me and other idea-makers later this month at the Idea Camp, either in person or virtually. You can learn more about the conference here and interact with other conference-goers here.
Hope to see you in DC!
