Live from Washington, DC: Congress on Aid, Afghanistan, and Sudan

by Daniel J Gerstle · 2009-12-01 01:09:00 UTC

The US House of Representatives and Senate have served up a busy post-Thanksgiving week. On behalf of Change.org, I'll be covering some of this in person this week, with angst and dark humor whenever possible.

Today (Tuesday 12/1), the Senate will review the nomination of Rajiv Shah for Director of Foreign Assistance and USAID Administrator. Tomorrow (Wednesday 12/2), the House will hear Secretaries Clinton and Gates, as well as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Mullen, on Afghanistan Strategy. Thursday (12/3), the House will talk with Special Representative Gration on Sudan. Stay tuned. Keep the peace.
