Marriage Equality is Coming...to Michigan?

Michigan EqualityIf Prop 8 has done anything, it's certainly inspired other states to take up the marriage equality fight.  Witness yesterday in Michigan, where one group made this promise: "Marriage Equality is coming to Michigan."

Michigan Equality, a statewide LGBT rights organization, said that they are starting to work on a campaign to collect 500,000 signatures to repeal the state's constitutional ban on same-sex marriage, which was enacted in 2004.  It's likely not to happen until 2012, but it's clear the momentum is building.

Check out this Michigan Messenger story for more information.  This story is a great reminder that Prop 8 may have been a setback, but the struggle for marriage equality will continue in states all across the country.
