Missing Medication: School Employee Charged

An employee at the Dawn School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, has allegedly been stealing medication from students at the school, yesterday's Chattanooan reports. One student who has Asperger's Syndrome, and also obsessive compulsive disorder and bipolar disorder, had been having a "difficult time controlling his behavior" in recent weeks. His mother, Kim MIller, was told that he would have to be put into "Valley Psychiatric Hospital because something was wrong with him"----it turns out that he had been taking empty capsules for weeks.
Sometimes the presumptions that people have about individuals with disabilities seem sadly---incorrigibly---endless: Did the employee even think that the student would not notice the difference in his medication? Not only was the employee taking someone else's medication (to what end, it's not specified), but her doing so may have caused the one student to have difficulties great enough for the school to suggest placement in a psychiatric hospital.
Not an employee one would want to have on staff.
