New Guest Column: Brave New World

Guest columnist Amy Benziger takes you bravely into the world of blended value investing

"Blended Value" refers to the idea that every enterprise creates a combination of social, financial, and environmental value, and to the notion that we ought to - as investors, entrepreneurs, and consumers - be including all of those variables into the equation of who we support and what we build. I'm thrilled to welcome Amy Benziger to the site to write about blended value investing.

As I've mentioned before, the thing that gets me most excited about blogging about social entrepreneurship is having the opportunity to expand the conversation from single heroic individuals (although there are so many it would be easy to just focus on that) and instead look at the ecosystem that is emerging around the idea of this blended value.

As Associate Producer of the annual Social Capital Markets conference and Events Director for an in-development collaborative working space for social entrepreneurs in San Francisco, Amy is at the center of the blended value movement. Her insights and experiences from the front lines of this new moment will be an essential companion for understanding a new moment in global capitalism.

Welcome to the site, Amy!
