Quick update that is not election related (stay tuned for that). It seems that it is a new era for American politics and it is also a new era for International Fair Trade Association (IFAT). At the Annual General Meeting in October 208, members supported a name change, so IFAT is now the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO). Move over WTO. We're calling out for a fairer trade system.

IFAT has a new name: the World Fair Trade Organization. Our members – all of them committed to 100% Fair Trade – supported the name change at our Annual General Meeting in October 2008. The new name is part of a process to clearly state our mission and give us a platform to truly impact the livelihoods of the most vulnerable through Fair Trade.

Now that our members have spoken, we are working hard to create the tools to help us tell the world who we are and what we stand for.
