Nominate a Criminal Justice Changemaker

If you could tap anyone in the world to write in this space on the big issues facing criminal justice systems around the world -- who would it be?
I know what you’re thinking: ‘Matt, it’s such a privilege and a joy to read your posts every day, who needs celebrities and world leaders?' That’s very nice of you, and it's a perfectly valid argument, but this opportunity is too good to pass up.
We recently opened nominations for Changemakers -- prominent leaders and experts in each issue area on change.org who will be invited based on your votes to write here regularly. You can vote on nominees and nominate your own changemakers here. This is your chance to choose a diverse group of thought leaders, activists and legends to blog on change.org. I’m excited to see who you nominate and vote for.
Below are a couple of leaders I’m voting for:
Senator Jim Webb is the most outspoken Senator in years on criminal justice and especially drug war issues. His bill to establish a criminal justice commission is stuck in committee, but he shows no signs of slowing his verbal assault on these critical issues and he needs our support.
Bryan Stevenson is the executive director at the Equal Justice Initiative and a celebrated law professor at NYU. His work has truly helped to move our criminal justice system toward equality and fairness. He'll be arguing the Sullivan v. Florida case before the U.S. Supreme Court in November.
Vote for these two -- or your own favorites -- here. You get ten votes, use ‘em!
