October 15th is Blog Action Day
This week, thousands of bloggers from around the world will unite to start a discussion of global importance. The topic? Climate change. This year's Blog Action Day (BAD) is expected to be the largest social media event ever to take place on the web. Sign up now and be a part of social media history in the making.
I'm especially excited about BAD this year for a few reasons. First, 2009 marks the first year that Change.org has taken the reigns on the movement. Our entire team is seriously committed to making history this year, which is very exciting.
Second, I'm looking forward to writing about the link between climate change and homelessness. The connection between these issues is not as obvious as, say, global warming or sustainable food. But perhaps this is why BAD is so important - climate change touches many issues in one way or another, including homelessness. Demonstrating just how broadly climate change affects all of the issues we write about and care about will bring an important sense of urgency to this issue.
Remember: one-sided discussions are boring and lame, so make your voice heard! It's not too late to register your blog at the BAD website. There are an array of badges you can proudly embed (I like to think of it as blog flair).
What are you waiting for? Sign up, display your flair, and be a part of the largest social change event ever to take place on the web.
