Open Now: Sparkseed Application for Social Innovators

by Nathaniel Whittemore · 2009-12-02 11:35:00 UTC

Earlier this week, Sparkseed launched a national competition to find their next class of college-age social innovators. The Bay Area-based innovation incubator provides college age entrepreneurs with cash, mentorship, and a variety of additional resources to help launch their projects.

Regular readers of this blog know that I have a special place in my heart for undergraduate entrepreneurship. I think that programs like Sparkseed, the Global Engagement Summit, ThinkImpact and more are vital to building a pipeline of capable, passionate social innovators. The sort of "up-front" investment that groups like Sparkseed make in young leaders have the potential to pay dividends over time, and I think we should do even more of it.

To learn more about Sparkseed, check out their website, or scroll down to read their full announcement. Applications due February 7th.
