Party Your Way to a Support Ecosystem

Today, use-crowdsourced-financial-incentives-to-make-companies-do-gooders Virgance are building community the oldest way there is: with a party.
Tonight is the second Virgance Equinox party. A chance for Virgance friends and family to come hang out, learn more about the company, and most importantly, discover the other people within this orbit of creative world changers. If one needs proof of how cool the community in attendance will be, the event is technically being hosted by leaders from organizations like New Cycle Capital, the Skoll Foundation, and HIP Investor.
So why is this worth blogging about? A few reasons:
1. We're not much without a group of people around us. The biggest myth of social change is that individuals with big ideas can change the world. It's not true. Dedicated individuals with big ideas can get other groups of people to join them, and then, if that group has what it takes, it can change the world.
2. Real change takes all types. To solve our problems, we need people who care about every different type of issue, who have every type of skill, and who have connections to every different type of industry. Parties are a great environment for broadening our connections beyond the silos in which we normally exist.
3. Any attempt to change the world is inherently a celebration of what it could be. Parties are about celebration, and it's important to pause and celebrate what makes the world a place worth fighting for.
See everyone tonight! Here are the details.
