Pat Robertson and the Garbage Heap of History

Pat Robertson

When Pat Robertson isn't busy praying for the Lord to deliver righteous judges, or comparing liberal America to Nazi Germany, or suggesting that feminists want to kill their husbands and practice witchcraft, Mr. Robertson is usually occupied with bashing the gays. And today is no different.

With the White House scheduled to announce a Presidential Memorandum this afternoon expanding some federal benefits to same-sex partners of gay and lesbian government employees, Robertson took the time to wax on about countries that show tolerance and respect for homosexuality.

His take?  That countries that tolerate and respect their LGBT citizens end up in the "garbage heap of history."  And that's a direct quote, according to Media Matters for America.

Of course, if we're to take Robertson at his word, it sounds like he's suggesting that countries that suppress homosexuality end up victorious and mighty.  That certainly boons well for Sudan, Iran, Senegal, Jamaica...perhaps Robertson will consider moving?

A boy can dream.  Check out the appearance below.  Here's one thing for certain...if any 2012 contender for the GOP Presidential nomination willingly accepts an endorsement from this buffoon (kind of like Rudy Giuliani did last election cycle), they better be prepared to accept Robertson's lengthy and disturbing history of destructive comments.
