The Fair Trade Resource Network is looking for a Student Outreach Intern to help promote World Fair Trade Day.

FTRN is looking for interns to support its World Fair Trade Day Programming for 2009.  Help us* 'Set the Record Straight!' by supporting student efforts to* break last year's record to plan the world's largest Fair Trade Coffee Break, and educate our community about Fair Trade!

The intern supervisor, the National Outreach Coordinator, is responsible for coordinating World Fair Trade Day outreach activities for 2009. Intern may be based around the U.S. using online & phone technology. This is an unpaid position, but offers the substantial benefits of training in skills (community organizing, communications) & knowledge (global trade, international development), mentoring & personal networking. Candidates who are self-starters and already involved in one of the following areas preferred: international development, social justice, global trade, ethical consumerism, green movements, communications or community organizing.

Position: Student Outreach Intern, World Fair Trade Day.

Schedule: Part-time, 10-20 hours per week.

Location: Anywhere in the United States.

Benefits: Training, mentoring & networking with an experienced community organizer at the forefront of international development work.

Dates: *March 1- May 16th, 2009.

The Fair Trade Resource Network is seeking a self-starting undergraduate- or graduate-level intern, to lead or assist in the following Intern Activity Areas:

  1. coordinating student outreach & events around the country for World Fair Trade Day 2009 (May 9);
  2. creative event planning and support to student organizers;
  3. social networking outreach project (Facebook, MySpace, etc).
